Four-store independent Scottish furniture retailer The Designer Rooms has announced the launch of its new website while one of its stores temporarily closes after suffering a devastating fire.

The family-run business, which was established just under six years ago by owner Ryan Campbell, revealed that the new website, www.thedesignerrooms.com, aims to broaden its market across the whole of Scotland.

In March earlier this year, its store in Irvine was completely gutted when a fire spread from the premises next door. Consequently, the business has had to close the store to repair the damage caused, with plans to reopen by the end of 2016.

Commenting to local press, Ryan said: “Our store in Irvine burnt down in March. We will re-open it, hopefully by the end of the year, but customers can order products now via our new website, which we have just launched.”

The Designer Rooms has three other stores in Ayr, Kilmarnock and Coatbridge, and retails a variety of home furnishing products from furniture to mattresses and lighting.
