Furniture wholesale business Coach House has posted its highest ever turnover, with profit more than doubling in its latest account for the year ended 30 September 2015.

Total sales rose for a third consecutive year by 19.3% to £46.1m from its previous year’s growth of 6.5% at £38.6m.

The Altham-based business, which houses a 25,000sq ft dedicated themed showroom in Lancashire, revealed a £7m growth within its UK market to £42.6m.

Sales across Europe also performed strong, increasing by 47% to £2.5m from £1.7m. However, Coach House reported a slight lull with its rest of the world sector, as revenue slipped to £867,342 from £1m in 2014.

Coach House said that during the year 7.36% of the company’s turnover related to exports, growing from 7.09% last year.

Gross profit registered an uptick of 18.8% to £18.9m from £15.9m, while operating profit doubled to £11.6m. Overall profit for the year grew by 154.2% to £8.9m from £3.5m.

Commenting within the report, Coach House said: “Both the level of the business for the year and the year end financial position are considered satisfactory.”
