New standalone start up The Lounge Co has officially unveiled its 20 independent retailers that will a dedicated gallery following its successful launch online over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Backed by Sofa Brands International – but completely separate – The Lounge Co has confirmed that it will have a 1,500sq ft gallery in each independent retailer.

They are: Alan Ward in Shrewsbury, Barker & Stonehouse in both Newcastle and Hull, Christopher Pratts in Leeds, Clarkes Furnishers in Maidstone, Cousins in both Birmingham and Manchester, David Phipp in Ferndown, Doorway To Value in Chorley, Jarrold in Norwich, Julian Foye in Cornwall, Leekes in both Coventry and Pontyclun, Lucas Furniture in Aylesbury, Park Furnishers in Bedminster, Ponsford in Sheffield, Sterling Furniture in both Tillicoultry and Glasgow, Stokers in Chester and Vale Furnishers in Ash Vale.

Each store has a set date for opening through September and October, with one of the first to be in Cousins, Birmingham and Manchester, scheduled for launch on 2 and 3 September respectively.

The Lounge Co, which is based at SBI’s own London flagship store in Chiswick on High Road, features 12 sofa models and six occasional chairs across more than 120 fabrics and leathers.

SBI, which owns the Duresta, G Plan and Parker Knoll brands, also confirmed earlier this month that its products will be made at the latters facility in Castlewood and would be delivered direct to the consumer.

Commenting to Cabinet Maker on the launch, Julian Neal of The Lounge Co said: “The launch has gone extremely well thank you.  Initial orders have been encouraging, feedback on the galleries, range and pricing has been extremely positive.

“We are also getting feedback from a lot of customers who are really pleased to hear that our sofas are made in the UK, I suspect the significance of UK manufacture could have increased post the Brexit vote.”
