The Furniture Makers’ longest running charity event, the National Charity Golf Day, is set to tee off once again this September.

The popular event, which is an 18 hole Stableford competition, will be held on Wednesday 28 September 2016 at the world-renowned Oxfordshire Golf Club, and will help raise money for the industry’s charity.

The day will also see competitors sit down to a two-course lunch, a prize giving ceremony, where an array of trophies and awards will be on offer, and a charity raffle.

There is a number of sponsorship opportunities available for companies wishing to support the event, which was first held more than 60 years ago.

Ben Burbidge, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “The National Golf Day has traditionally been among the highlights of our calendar of fundraising events and we’re delighted to be taking it to Oxfordshire Golf Club.”

Peter Mallinson, merchandise director (home) at AIS, who is helping to organise the event, said: “As well as raising money for the industry’s only dedicated charity, the golf day has always been a terrific event and first class networking opportunity for people working right across the furnishings sector.”

The National Charity Golf Day is also the culmination of the Regional Charity Golf Days, with the winners of these events given free entry to compete in the national event.

The Regional Charity Golf Days will take place on the following dates:

16 June 2016 – East Anglia Charity Golf Day, Bury St Edmunds Golf Club

20 July 2016 – Northern Charity Golf Day, Preston Golf Club

4 August 2016 – Scottish Golf Day, Deer Park Golf and Country Club

10 August 2016 – Teesside Golf Day, Catterick Golf Club
