West Sussex-based premium outdoor furniture manufacturer Alexander Rose has reported a successive increase in turnover, while also experiencing a growth in profit.
According to the latest annual accounts for the year ended 31 August 2015, total sales rose by 5.4% to £9.7m from £9.2m. Despite the sales growth, predominately in the UK – up by 5%, its European market, down by 9.4%, suffered due to the fluctuation in the value of the Euro.
Operating profit grew by 72.1% to £551,984 from £320,216 over the same period, while overall profit for the financial year jumped by 74.6% to £428,994 from £245,074.
Commenting within the strategic report, the company said: “The directors are satisfied with the gross profit margin generated in the year of 38.74% (2014: 37.98%). The gross profit percentage is fairly consistent with the previous year, seeing a slight improvement.”
