Furniture business Willis & Gambier has announced the launch of its new warehouse as it lays firmer foundations for future growth.
The new 170,000sq ft facility, which is based in Peterborough – and just two miles from its old base, has had ‘significant investment’ pumped in from W&G owners Samson Holdings and features a state-of-the-art racking system.
The site includes a new 5,500sq ft showroom, scheduled for completion for its next ‘Home Show’, which takes place around October/November this year.
Commenting to Cabinet Maker, David Lane, commercial director at Willis & Gambier, said: “We are very grateful from the ownership group, Samson Holdings, for having faith in the UK business and agree those plans and allow us to do what we have done today.
“The significant investment underlines the confidence that our ownership has got to the UK business and how we drive it forward. This move gives us the platform to put down firm foundations to develop, more forward and grow as a business.
“We have overhauled our website and we have prioritised retail marketing to underpin our message. This move is really the final piece of the jigsaw that really puts the business in the right place for challenges ahead.”
