Welsh independent furniture retailer Arthur Llewellyn Jenkins has revealed it is celebrating 125 years in the trade, and has also announced the appointment of Miranda Jenkins, the fifth generation of the family business.

Arthur Llewellyn Jenkins was first launched back in 1980 by founder Thomas Jenkins inSwanseaoffering a door-to-door service. His eldest son, and name sake of the business, took over and opened its first showroom onOxford Street,Swanseain 1933.

After years of numerous expansion and investment, the company prides itself on two huge showrooms inCardiff, with its 80,000sq ft store situated at Mwyndy Cross, andSwansea, now located at Garngoch.

To mark the milestone of 125 years, a fifth generation of the Jenkins family, Miranda, has joined the firm as it continues to build on its long-standing reputation.

Commenting to the South Wales Evening Post, the company said: "As we celebrate 125 years in business, we would like to thank all of our customers old and new for your continued support. Customers have remained loyal over the years with many generations of families returning to furnish their homes."
